Our Next Challenge

On January 3, we start our "Your Choice Challenge".  How fun is that for creativity inspiration.  For those of you who aren't familiar with our challenges, the guidelines are below:

• Ending time for this challenge is Wednesday, January 9, at 10 p.m. EST.
• Use the Inlinkz thumbnail format at the end of January 3 post.
• The drawing is for a $25 Gift Certificate for use in our on-line store.
• The winner is picked using Random.org.
• The players are notified of the winner by email that night.
• The winner's name will be posted with the DT Thursday post on January 10.
• All entries are posted in the Customer Card Gallery under Card Galleries at the top of the page.

Have some fun, invite a friend to create too, have a stamping party and/or create your card using all IO stamps, and then post it using the Inlinkz at the bottom of the 01/03/13 challenge post.  If you have questions please email me.

Tuesday Extra Treat

Tuesday Tips And Techniques is usually held on the second and fourth Tuesdays.  However, I couldn't wait.   The events of last Friday made me need to be busy and we have new stamps in the online store HERE to show you and on my card above too.  Below is how I used them:

IMAGES:

1. Stamped Shabby Heart with Delicata Golden Glitz on white cardstock twice, painted the first with watercolors.  If you use Twinkling H2O's and want the exact colors, please email me.  Painted the roses, button and stick pin on the second and cut out.  Turned all over and embossed from the back on an embossing mat with a stylus.  Mounted the roses, and button with 3D pop dots to the heart.  Mounted the pin with Glossy Accents.
2. Stamped Cover-a- Card Cross Stitch with Memento Angel Pink (available starting January 12 when CHA starts).  I really did think it was in this release.  

ASSEMBLY:

1. Used a remnant piece of pink cardstock 4.25"X5.5".
2. Cut a piece of the Cross Stitch background to 4.0"X5.25.  Used the Border Duo 2 die on the bottom edge.  Mounted to the pink cardstock.
3. Mounted Green ribbon to the center of the cardfront.
4. Mounted the heart with 3D pop dots.
5. Used the Bow-Easy to make a bow and mounted
6. Stamped Love You with Golden Glitz as shown.
7. Added Viva Decor Ice White Pearl pen to the button and stick pen and to the bottom right hand corner.  (Because sometimes the pearl dots look to high to me I flip on the back with my finger and they flatten a little.  Mabe pearls.)  ;-)

Tuesday T&T Embossing With Glitter

Okay, so I finally did it.  I managed to get past the awesome dies and into some great stamps I wanted to use for my Christmas cards.   I absolutely fell in love with  the Tapestry Ornament by Alesa Baker, and, of course her Tapestry Banner too.   Oh yes, and her Fall Branch too.  I am not good at taking photos of anything with glitter it seems.  :-(

Images With Glitter:

1.  Stamped images on white cardstock with VersaMark ink pad.  Added Stamp and Bond powder, heated until clear, added glitter, heated again.
2. Cut out all of the images.

Branch Image:

1. Stamped on white cardstock with Memento Olive Grove and painted with Twinkling H2O's.  Other mediums work just fine.
2. Fliped over and embossed from the back with a stylus.

Sentiment:

1. Stamped on leftover white cardstock with Delicata Golden Glitz ink.
2. Used a leftover piece of one of the banners as a frame for the sentiment as shown.

Assembly:

1. Found a remnant piece of pink carstock agreeing with the glitter and cut to 4.25"X5.5"
2. Mounted a 4"X5.25" piece of White Laid cardstock.
3. Lined up and mounted the banners as shown.
4. Used the Delicata ink pad to edge the ornament and the frame for the sentiment.
5. Mounted the branch and ornament with 3D pop-dots.
6. Mounted the framed sentiment.
7. Added the pearls and the stick pin with pearl heart and pink bicone bead.

This truly is one of those situations where the card is so much prettier IRL.  If you ever have any questions on how I did something and didn't mention it, feel free to email me.
