Twofer Tuesday?

I really couldn't get the pretty dkdesigns Bird Collage 4 out of my mind.  The "Just A Note" sentiment seemed to fit right in too, and to give it a great touch of pattern for the BG I used the Cover-A-Card Marquise. 

1. Used Memento Summer Sky to stamp the image once and the flower twice (to be able to layer it), the sentiment, and the CAC background.  
2. Used Spellbinders largest Floral Oval and then sponged the center with the same ink.
3. Used the smallest Floral Oval for the sentiment.
4. Trimmed and layered the bird, leaves, and rose.
5. Mounted everything on the CAC background with 3D pop dots and it was good to go.
6. Pearl stickers and Blue ribbon were used as embellishments.

And I couldn't stop there.  I have been thinking about situations when "It's A Man's World", which is the theme day after tomorrow for our Thursday challenge.  Below is my card I might to give to a "sweetie" in a man's world kind of day!  I don't know of any Gary Robertson fan who can ever get enough.  His Beach Fence is an example of why.  That heron and beach wanted the Cover-a-Card Clouds to make the day.  And what's a beach without Cover-A-Card Shells for the background trim and to adorn the sentiment, So Very Sweet.  It can also be purchased as part of clear stamp set All Occasions II.

1. Beach Fence, CAC Shells, and sentiment were stamped with Memento Desert Sand.
2. The bird and the banner were stamped again to layer.
3. CAC Clouds was stamped with Memento Summer Sky.
4. Everything was stamped on white cardstock except the Shells on ivory (natural) and then mounted on plain ivory (natural).
5. The largest Spellbinders Lattice die was used as shown and also for a stencil for the main image and background as shown.
6. The image was painted with watercolor.  Dyes and markers or Copic/Shinhan can be used.
7. The heron, banner, and Starfish from the CAC Shell background were layered with 3D-popdots.
8. Ribbon was tied in a knot so not as feminine.  A little Viva Decor Gold Glitter pen was used on the Starfish and on the sand in areas to highlight.

Tuesday T&T About Those Birds!

No need to say I am really in love with the dkdesigns and this is what I did quickly with two of the birds:

Bird Collage 1 - E13043, Happy is the Heart - B11073, Elegant Flourish 2 - A8688, Cover-a-Card Sm. Quatrefoil - CC125

Okay, so he looks like a Gingerbread Bird!!!  I used the items below to create my images.  For the Bird Collage 1, I used a really simple stamp technique known to most as "Kissing".

Background and Image stamp area:

Background Image:

1. CAC Sm. Quatrefoil was inked with Memento Bamboo Green ink and stamped on Neenah Natural (off-white, ivory, cream, etc.) cardstock using my Mega Mount. (The Bird Collage image was stamped in the vacant space left on the cardstock.

Bird Collage Kissing:

 

1. The Quatrefoil stamp (laid flat) was inked with the Memento Bamboo Green.
2. Bird Collage 1 was inked with Memento Desert Sand and then pressed (kiss) to the Quatrefoil stamp.
3. The Bird Collage was stamped 3 times to vacant areas on the Natural cardstock.
4. The rose and leaves were painted with twinks, but dyes, other watercolors, or Copic/ShinHan markers can also be used.
5. One was trimmed around.  On the second I trimmed around the rose with leaves. and mounted to the bird with 3D pop-dots.
6. I used an olive green marker around the edges of all but the rose petal edges.

Assembly:

1. The background was mounted to another piece of natural cardstock.
2. the ribbon was laid diagonally in the center.
3. The bird was mounted to the sentiment.
4. The bird with sentiment was mounted to cardfront with 3D pop-dots.
5. A bow was made with May Arts ribbon and the Bow-Easy and mounted as shown.
6. Pearls were added to the bird as shown.  A little bit of Viva Decor Clear Glass was added to the flourishes around the rose.
7. A pearl heart stickpin was added .

On to my second card for the birds:

 

Cover-a-Card Toile - CC127, Bird Collage 4 - E13046, So Thankful - B11072, Elegant Flourish 2 - A8688

 

Images:

1. Maybe this was too easy!  All the images were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa on an 8.5"X11".  The Bird Collage 4 was stamped 3 times. (One extra for layering and one for the inside of the card)  The roses were painted with a pink
2. Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles (the two middle dies) were put through the Cuttlebug and then sponged around the edges edges with Rich Cocoa, using the die as a stencil.

Assembly:

1. A 5"X5" Cover-a-Card Toile piece was mounted on a 5.25"X5.25" piece of dark brown cardstock.
2. The roses were painted with a darker pink.
3. A remnant piece of ribbon was placed across the middle.
4. A Bird Collage 4 was trimmed and mounted to the largest Romantic Rectangle.  The tail was left loose so the sentiment could be attached.
5. The sentiment was attached.
6. A bow made with the Bow-Easy from more remnant ribbon and mounted.
7. A pearl was mounted on the rose and a heart pearl mounted on the right-hand bottom of the sentiment.

Inside Card - Left-hand Side:

1. The torn edges were sponged, the back taped and it was mounted to the left-side as shown.

Sneak Peek

Hope to see you all there.  Now for the 'sneak peek'.  I want to let you know that the two sneak peek stamps are not available in the online store now, but I will let you know when the stamps shown at CHA are in the online store.

Little Witch & Frog - F11042, Hand Over The Candy - C3832, Cover-A-Card Dotty Circles - CC095, Small Circle Shake-It Pouch, Action Wobble

Below are the items I pulled together to get started.

Background:

1. (VersaMark Resist technique works with any kind of ink.  I used watercolor.  Brayers and any dye or pigment ink will work.  If you use pigment, you may want to wipe down the cardstock after to pull it from the VersaMark. ) Cover-A-Card Dotty Circles was stamped on white cardstock with Versamark.
2. The dark green and VersaMarked cardstock was put through the Cuttlebug.  The VersaMarked cardstock was trimmed to fit in the center of the dark green.

Images:

1. Little Witch & Frog was inked with Memento Tuxedo Black 3 times.  The first one I used as a map to mount the frog and some of the witch, and also to decide how and where to mount the Small Circle Shake-It Pouch.
2. They were painted with twinks, but dyes, other watercolors, or Copic/ShinHan markers can also be used.  I stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black and paint with Twinkling H2O's without a problem.   Some people have problems with dyes running when using watercolors.

   

3. I trimmed around the little witch and the frog.

   

4. After I trimmed around the little frog I made his background.  I wanted him to "wobble".   I used a dark green cardstock remnant and put it though the Cuttlebug using the smaller floral edge.  I am showing you white thinking it would show up better.
5. Lined up the Shake-It Pouch and drew around the edge.  Trimmed to the white area you see above.  Below shows you how it looks in the green.

Assembly:

1. I assembled the shaker first by placing the beads/stars in the middle and then removing the seal protection on the Shake-It Pouch and mounted it.  Then I attached the green border and added some stars with Glossy Accents.
2. I placed it temporarily and mounted the witch with 3D pop dots.
3. I attached the Action Wobble to the back of the Shake-It Pouch.  Next I attached it to the card front as shown.
4. I added the May Arts ribbon and a bow, done with the Bow-Easy.

   

   The sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and then put through the Cuttlebug with a smaller Spellbinders Labels Eight die.

Tuesday T&T - Shells Today & Frogs Tomorrow

I am still really enjoying using Dina's dkdesigns great images.  They inspired me to make the card below.   I was also inspired by the great card Jenny Gropp made for one of our challenges HERE.  Tomorrow, I'll have another card for you.  Mitra told me I could give you a 'sneak peek' of some of the new Fall/Winter stamps to be released at the CHA convention at the end of this month!!!  So let's get started with today's card, then meet me back here tomorrow the the 'sneak peek':

Shell Collage - D13024, Walk With Me - D13007, Ticking - CC126, Quatrefoil - CC124

 

Above are the basic things I needed to get started.  A complete list is at the bottom of the post with basic links.

Shell Collage Image:

1. Stamped Shell Collage 3 times using Vintage Sepia ink.
2. Sprinkled the 2 without the deckled frame with Clear embossing powder and embossed with heat gun.   Trimmed around shell and shell opening. 
3. Put shell shown with die through Cuttlebug.
4. Mounted second shell and shell opening as shown on shell put thorough deckle die (using 3D pop dots).  I curled the bottom edge of the shell opening under a little.
5. Painted with twinks, but dye inks, ShinHan, or Copic markers can also be used.
6. The sentiment, Walk With Me, was also stamped using Rich Cocoa and put though the Cuttlebug using a smaller Deckle die.
7. Edges of both die cuts were sponged with Vintage Sepia.

Background:

1. Cover-A-Card Ticking was stamped on white cardstock using Memento Angel Pink.
2. Cover-A-Card Quatrefoil was stamped over the Ticking background using Rich Cocoa.
3. Trimmed to 4"X5.25" and mounted on dark brown cardstock.  Saved extra for inside card and envelope as shown.

Assembly:

1. Lined up shell and sentiment.  Mounted with 3D pop dots.
2. Threaded Pink May Arts Ribbon through and attached to back of cardfront.  Added bow using the Bow-Easy.
3. Mounted 7, 5, and 3MM pearl stickers using Glossy Accents and added heart stick pin.
4. Finished the inside of card and envelope.

• The winner is picked using Random.org.
• The players are notified of the winner by email that night.
• The winner's name will be posted with the DT Thursday post on July 12.
• All entries are posted in the Customer Card Gallery under Card Galleries at the top of the page.

Have some fun, invite a friend to play, have a stamping party and/or create your card using at least one die and all IO stamps, and then post it using the Inlinkz at the bottom of the July post.  If you have questions please email me.  My email is right under my name near the top of the sidebar to your right.
